Abdur Raheem Kidwai is Professor of English at the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh and Visiting Professor at the Department of English, University of Leicester, UK. He earned two doctorates in English from the Aligarh and Leicester universities. He has published two books, The Quran: Essential Teachings (Jaico) and Bibliography of the Translations of the Meanings of the Glorious Quran into English: 1649-2002 A Critical Study (KFQPC, Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Madina, Saudi Arabia), and numerous articles and reviews on the English translations of the Quran.
